The revised Diploma in Social Work could be implemented next year, said training council CCETSW, which is expected to approve the revisions this week.
Rachel Pierce, assistant director overseeing the review, said the relaxed timetable was a response to fears of delays in gaining approval by boards of educational institutions.
Responses had been supportive, and the dissenting view of a group of academics was 'very much the exception', she added.
Other proposed changes are to the wording of the statement on anti-racism, and to the second opinion on practice placements.
