A new innovation designed to bring the National Social Services Conference to people's desktops is to be piloted this year. All the main plenary sessions and four of the policy sessions are to be shown live on the internet.
A special conference page will feature on Community Care's website www.community-care.co.uk with a live picture and sound feed direct from the conference centre.
There will also be a chance to take part in selected policy sessions as they happen by making a point or asking a question via e-mail direct to the chairperson.
Points or questions can also be submitted in advance through the web conference page accessed by clicking on the conference logo on Community Care's home page.
Subjects to be featured in the webcasts include care trusts, adoption, children's services and physical disability.
There will also be a chance to vote in a poll on the future provision of care and the role of the independent sector.
