A policy designed to protect vulnerable adults from abuse was launched this week by chief executives of North Yorkshire County Council and the City Of York Council.
Heads of social services and representatives from voluntary groups across the county attended the launch of the No Secrets policy, which promotes prevention of abuse and provides a framework for investigating complaints and supporting victims.
Social services staff in both authorities were involved in co-ordinating the production of policies and procedures.
