Support for private fostering regulation

Three out of four visitors to Community Care's website believe it is realistic for social services to regulate private fostering after a report from British Agencies for Adoption and Fostering called for more protection for vulnerable children.

Seventy-four per cent of people said they believed social services departments could take on this role if the government decided it should be one of their functions.

There were calls for improved services for young sex offenders, after a part 8 review into the Dominic McKilligan case found an inadequate number of places across the country for their treatment.
