Two service users have been appointed to the recently created Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care, following an announcement by Malcolm Chisholm, minister for health and community care.
Janis Pelosi is secretary of Midlothian Sure Start, a voluntary organisation which provides services for children and families. Pelosi also has personal experience of using home care and services for children and families.
Caroline Lindsay is a young person’s worker with Who Cares? Scotland, an organisation which helps children who are looked after and young people formerly in care. Lindsay has experience of being looked after, and will also add a black and ethnic minority perspective to the Care Commission.
