An 18-month inquiry into London’s mental health services, which will look at far they meet the capital’s needs, has been launched by the King’s Fund.
It will ask if enough is being done to promote good mental health, and to provide the right support to people with mental illnesses. The size and skills of the mental health workforce in London, the support provided to people with dual diagnosis of mental illness and substance misuse, and the funding of services will be included in the study.
Angela Greatley, a King's Fund fellow in mental health who will lead the inquiry, said: "Five years ago, London's mental health services were in desperate need of reform and resources.
"Our inquiry will find out what has changed and whether it has brought about necessary improvements," she said.
