The government has underlined its commitment to funding social regeneration projects, promising they will feature prominently in regional development agencies' activities.
A joint statement from the Department for Transport, Local Government and the Regions, the Department of Trade and Industry, and the country's eight regional development agencies states that all RDAs are "designed to tackle social exclusion and help narrow the gap between our most deprived communities and the rest of society".
The statement is intended to reassure the voluntary sector that the single pot of funding for regeneration, introduced this month, will not see social regeneration projects lose out.
