The Disability Rights Commission has taken over 144,000 calls to its helpline since it was set up two years ago, and handled 4,000 cases from people who have faced discrimination.
Most of the calls related to the Disability Discrimination Act, with 57 per cent concerned with employment issues and 30 per cent with goods, facilities and services.
Sixty five per cent of the cases have been resolved in favour of the disabled person.
DRC chairperson Bert Massie said: "We have made a significant start over the last two years, but there is still much work to do."
