The British Association of Social Workers has condemned a website which names and shames social workers and vilifies the profession.
www.blunderingsocialworkers.co.uk cites alleged scandals involving social workers, as well as judges and solicitors.
In April, the site was taken down by its former internet host following a complaint from Nottingham council about "defamatory and slanderous remarks".
Further information has been removed since then, following another complaint to its new host from Bedfordshire council.
BASW immediate past chairperson Gail Tucker said: "Whatever the legitimate grievances of some service users, this is no way to address them.
"This is no way to improve public services whether it’s social services, the police, or the judiciary. There are proper mechanisms for bringing these grievances forward."
