Allegations that a 60-year-old female patient at a mental health unit has been raped are being investigated by police in London.
The woman, a patient at the Brent ward of the John Connolly Unit run by West London Mental Health Trust, was attacked last Friday.
Scotland Yard confirmed that the suspect has been described as a black male, but no-one has been charged.
A spokesperson for West London Mental Health Trust said it would be holding an inquiry. The 17-bed adult acute admissions ward is for voluntary patients, the spokesperson added. Patients and visitors are free to come and go.
