A project aiming to find new ways of assessing the educational needs of homeless people with learning difficulties is to be carried out by Scottish charity Quarriers.
It will work with teams from Romania, France, Portugal and Austria as part of a Europe-wide initiative. A joint proposal was submitted to EU education body Socrates Grundtvig, which, along with the British Council, provided funds.
Each project will pilot new methods of assessment in their own countries, constructed around the needs of their clients, and taking into consideration their social background. The teams will then share and compare their findings and devise new methods of evaluation.
