Cut stress and we'll stay in our posts

Three-quarters of visitors to Community Care's website say they would be more likely to stay in their jobs, even on the same pay, if there was less bureaucracy.

An Audit Commission report found that stress caused by bureaucracy was one of the main reasons for public sector workers leaving their jobs, and 71 per cent of people in the web poll agreed that red tape was a major problem.

This week we ask the question: Do local authorities have the will to work with voluntary organisations to deliver the government's strategy?

The government has issued its blueprint for the involvement of voluntary organisations in the delivery of services.
