Ethnic minorities have now become the majority in three London boroughs.
People from black and Asian groups now outnumber whites in Tower Hamlets, Newham and Brent.

Child attacked
An intruder who tried to rape an 11-year-old girl has been jailed for 11-years at the Old Bailey.
Scott Lockett of Peckham, south London, followed the girl into her flat in 2002 and ordered her to strip. She fought him off and he fled.

Mum charged with murder
A 22-year-old woman has been charged with murdering her 15-month-old son.
Marianne Williams of Tidworth, Wiltshire, appeared at Winchester Crown Court in connection with the death of her son Joshua in February. Pathologists found high levels of sodium in Joshua's body prompting fears of a salt overdose.

Boy admits arson
A 13-year-old boy set fire to a newsagents after he was stopped from buying a copy of Playboy, Inner London Crown Court heard.
The boy of south-east London had a history of starting small fires. The case has been adjourned until 8 October.

Voluntary work 'helps to ease stress'
Voluntary work could help the 12m people in the UK who suffer from mental health problems combat stress and depression, reveals a survey by Community Service Volunteers.
The poll of more than 600 volunteers also found 63 per cent of
25-34 year-olds and 62 per cent of over 65s said volunteering
reduced stress.

Police hunt three teenagers
South Wales police are hunting for a girl and two teenage boys in connection with an attack on a middle aged man.
The gang punched and kicked the man in Wesley Street, Cardiff, during the early hours of Sunday.

Christopher Price has been made the subject of an Antisocial Behaviour Order which has also banned him from drinking alcohol for three years.

Urgent talks on bed crisis threat
A huge rise in bed-blocking has raised fears of a winter hospital beds crisis in Edinburgh. Urgent talks are being held in an attempt to solve the problem. The closure of three private nursing homes in Edinburgh has had an impact on the city's hospitals. Over a month the number of people delayed in hospital has gone up from 378 to 401. Patients have been unable to be discharged because care home places have been snapped up by the council to accommodate elderly people left homeless by the closure of their care home.
