Welsh minister for health and social services Jane Hutt has been replaced by Brian Gibbons after six years in the job, it was announced today, writes Clare Jerrom.
Gibbons, the deputy economic development and transport minister, is a member of the British Medical Association and previously served as deputy minister for health and social services.
First minister Rhodri Morgan said he was confident that Gibbons had the necessary experience to build on the platform Hutt has established.
Morgan has asked Hutt to take another key cabinet position as business manager where she will help to lead the Welsh Assembly government’s agenda.
Karen Sinclair, who was previously business manager, will continue as chief whip and attending the cabinet.
