Three of the largest sheltered housing providers are to lobby government to tackle the growing cost of Supporting People bureaucracy.
Anchor Trust, Hanover Housing Association and Housing 21 met last week to discuss the mounting paperwork that they believe is draining a "disproportionate" amount of resources.
Sheltered housing providers often receive less Supporting People funding per person than other providers of housing-related support but have the same administration costs.
A spokesperson for Hanover said the three felt support to their residents might have to be reduced because of the "increased administrative burden" from Supporting People at housing estate and organisational level, and that funding cuts were adding to this pressure.
John Belcher, chief executive of Anchor Trust, said the three organisations hoped to work effectively with the government in order to address their concerns.
