Housing minister Yvette Cooper said today that tenants in social housing deserve decent homes at the Chartered Institute of Housing’s annual conference.
Cooper claimed the government was committed to improving housing and building new homes for the next generation.
She announced £3 billion of funding to refurbish 125,000
homes to modern standards and build 1,400 new social rented
homes.
