When I first flicked through this book I was immediately drawn to the different scenarios, writes Sue Rana. Its many uses are certainly obvious: I could use it working with young people; as a mother I could use it one-to-one with my child; if I worked in a care setting I could use it to work with young people on drug issues.
Emmett and Nice have created a resource that is easy and interesting to work with. It educates young people about drug issues using an exciting method of learning and has many ways of educating others about drug use. It includes 18 exercises that identify the facts and fictions around drug use.
I am impressed by the quality of the exercises, which are designed to be photcopied. It will now be my first port of call as a resource in educating young people on the issues surrounding the use and effect of drugs.
Sue Rana is senior drug dependency worker, Bradford City primary care trust.
