Wanless scotches claims on prevention

There is little evidence to justify the claim that investment in preventive services will reduce future demand for intensive services, Sir Derek Wanless said.

Speaking after his address, he said his review into older people's care services had yet to find enough evidence to support the claim.

He confirmed he would not produce interim findings ahead of the white paper on health and social care and admitted the target date of next March to report was tight.
