Who is it for? Families with disabled children and those who work with them or are interested to find out more about their needs.

Highlight: The site’s facility that allows families to get in touch with other people who are affected by similar disabilities or medical conditions to theirs. This works by enabling people to have e-mail conversations without having to reveal their e-mail address until they are ready.

There is also a very helpful index containing information on hundreds of conditions and providing links to specialist support groups. A dedicated “dad’s zone” is another welcome addition where visitors can access fathers’ stories and specially-tailored information on issues such as relationships.

The site is easy to navigate but its bland colour scheme and large blocks of unbroken text let it down slightly. A few more photos and subheadings would make its fantastic content more digestible.
