A dating and friendship service for adults with learning difficulties in London received the top accolade in social care last month.
Stars in the Sky, run by Haringey Association for Independent Living, claimed the overall winner prize – sponsored by the Commission for Social Care Inspection and the Social Care Institute for Excellence – at the Community Care Awards 2005.
It also triumphed in the learning difficulties category, sponsored by Brookdale.
Comedian Jimmy Carr kept the 500-plus guests entertained during the ceremony at the Marriott Grosvenor Square in London in December.
