The General Social Care Council is to review policy on post registration training and learning, head of social work education Steve Trevillion told delegates at Community Care Live Adults in London today.
New guidance on ways for social workers to meet PRTL requirements will be published by the GSCC in March.
The GSCC is committed to “refining” PRTL, he added.
The GSCC has “tried not to be too specific about what constitutes PRTL, so as not to constrain learning” said acting GSCC head of policy Graham Ixer. However “many” say the requirements are not demanding enough, he continued.
PRTL is not currently verified and could be in the future, Ixer added.
