As a child support worker, I am amazed at the lack of joined-up information on leisure activities for young people. Trying to set up programmes has resulted in hours trawling local groups and searching the internet. It is frustrating even trying to find out simple things like where, and how much activities and events are.

The young people of today live in a society that simply refuses to integrate their needs into plans for the future – hence nice large new housing estates with no play facilities for young people, inhabited by adults who then complain that their lives are blighted by groups of youngsters with nothing to do.

Surely a simple solution would be to consider the needs of young people from the start when planning anything.
