Who has had the biggest influence on your life?
My father because of his politics, beliefs and attitudes.

Which health or social care professional has been most use to you?
The physiotherapist at Ludlow Hospital.
 
Name one thing that would make your life better?
The ability to walk unaided.
 
What event most changed your life?
The left-sided stroke in October 2002.

In what way has the state benefited you?

By implementing the NHS acts of 1948.

If you won the lottery how would you spend it?
Pay off my children’s mortgages, make a generous donation to the Mayfair Centre and invest the rest for my grandchildren.

What is your greatest achievement?
Running a successful GP practice.

What makes you happy?
Visiting Eskdale in the Lake District.

When were you last angry?
When the UK government joined the US in attacking Iraq.

Who would you like to swap places with?
Anyone who can still walk the Shropshire Hills.

Who do you most admire?
My wife for coping with me for past three years.

What cause would you fight for?
Parliamentary democracy.

What is the most important lesson you have learned?
There’s always someone worse off.
