Simon Davies has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair. He lives in a Jewish Care residential home

Who has influenced you the most?
My parents.

Which health or social care professional has been most use to you?
I'm not going to single anyone out but I benefit greatly from living at Rela Goldhill Lodge in London.

How would you run care services in your area differently?
There would be more services.

What one thing would make your life better?
Being accepted. People in wheelchairs are often ignored.

What event most changed your life?

My birth. There were problems getting me out and I developed cerebral palsy.

What would you ban if you could?
Stairs leading up to disabled loos.

What is your greatest achievement?
Getting A-levels and a marketing degree.

What is your biggest regret?
My disability. I wish I could walk and talk like everyone else.

What makes you happy?
Volunteering for Jewish Care's fund-raising team. I also run a greetings card business to raise funds for the home.

Somebody without a disability

What cause would you fight for?
Disability rights and better access.

How would you like to be remembered?
As a normal person, part of society.

What is the most important lesson you have learned?
Make the best of things and be persistent.
