A coalition of women’s, fathers’ and children’s groups have come together to call for a significant increase in support for separated parents managed by a reformed Child Support Agency.

More than 40 organisations and individuals, including NCH, Fathers Direct, Women’s Aid and the Family Welfare Association, issued a statement yesterday calling for a network of services including relationship support, domestic violence perpetrator programmes and debt and benefits advice.

Under the plans, the CSA would provide access to these services.

Fathers Direct head of communications Jack O’Sullivan said the demise of Fathers 4 Justice had “created a space” for the coalition to come together, moving the debate beyond contact rights and maintenance payments.
