Parents and young people in Scotland have the opportunity to learn more about the risks of drug misuse at a Scottish Executive roadshow that kicks off in Paisley today.
The Informing Parents truck will tour 10 towns and cities in June urging families to talk more openly about the damage drugs can do. Information will be available on the dangers of cannabis, cocaine, ecstasy, heroin and volatile substance abuse.
Deputy justice minister Hugh Henry said: “Prevention is always better than cure, and parents and other family members can make a real difference.
“Many parents think that their kids don’t listen to them, but what parents do and say has an effect. By inviting them into informed discussion, families can help to ensure that Scotland’s young people are armed with a real understanding of how to stay safe.”
