Kent Council is set to include children's community health services in its forthcoming children's trust and has created a new post to head up the service.
Richard Murrells has been appointed director of health for children and young people within the directorate of children, families and education. The new trust will commission community child health, specialist child health promotion and child and adolescent mental health services and is expected to be in operation by April 2007.
Murrells was formerly director for children and young people at the four East Kent primary care trusts.
