Hugh Henry has replaced Peter Peacock as Scottish education minister, taking over responsibility for the social care workforce and children’s issues.
Peacock, who piloted through the 21st Century Review of Social Work, resigned yesterday from the post on health grounds.
Henry was formerly deputy justice minister and led Renfrewshire Council for four years before his election to the Scottish parliament in 1999.
