Some crisis mental health teams are receiving too many non-critical referrals from A&E or GPs, the Department of Health said yesterday.
In guidance on crisis resolution home treatment teams, the DH suggested setting up systems within A&E and primary care to screen referrals to teams.
CRHT teams are designed to assess people potentially requiring inpatient treatment to see if they can be adequately treated at home.
