Campaigners for severely disabled children are calling on MPs to back legislation to give their families the right to short breaks, when it receives its second reading on Friday.
The Every Disabled Child Matters campaign called on MPs to attend the debate on the Disabled Children (Family Support) Bill which would give 100,000 families the right to take short breaks.
The private member’s bill is sponsored by Conservative MP Gary Streeter and is backed by 50 organisations, including the Disability Rights Commission and Carers UK.
