The head of the Local Government Association will today call for a new policy framework on older people, based on Every Child Matters.
LGA chief executive Paul Coen will tell the Age Agenda conference London that the increasing numbers of older people in the UK necessitated a framework that explained how services to them would be designed, delivered and funded.
He will say: "Delivering the new approach will require older people’s issues to be raised up the agenda in, and across, all government departments to deliver these aspirations. It is essential that ministers consider a model similar to Every Child Matters."
