The professional regulators for social care, teaching and nursing are seeking practitioners’ views on a joint statement on delivering services to children and young people, they announced yesterday.
The General Social Care Council, General Teaching Council and Nursing and Midwifery Council said it was designed to promote mutual understanding between practitioners from different backgrounds who were working together.
It asks social workers, teachers and nurses to commit themselves to upholding children’s rights, involving families in decisions that affect them and learning and making use of each others’ expertise.
GSCC chief executive Lynne Berry said: “We hope that it provokes a wide-ranging debate.”
