Current social policies and a rising number of older people affected by dementia mean that social workers must have up-to-date knowledge and skills in order to work effectively with individuals and their carers.
The chapter on communication is especially helpful in promoting and developing partnerships and relationships with people with dementia and their families.
The structure of the book and chapters mean the text is accessible and easy-to-read.
The use of quotations and the case studies that are provided are very helpful and practitioners and students reading Social Work and People with Dementia should appreciate and learn from these.
