Badly-housed children are starring in new digital adverts on London Underground as part of a Shelter campaign to highlight the problems of homelessness and bad housing.
Travellers on the escalators at Tottenham Court Road, Paddington and Charing Cross stations will view moving digital posters showing children trapped in squalid conditions, banging and pushing at the screen to get out.
The adverts call on commuters to text “more homes now” to 87085 to support Shelter’s call for more social homes for children who are homeless or trapped in overcrowded or squalid conditions. Shelter is calling on the government to build 20,000 extra social homes each year.
One of the posters features five-year-old Yusra (pictured), from Bayswater, west London, who lives in a damp, overcrowded flat with her parents and younger brother.
