Former Association of Directors of Social Services president Mike Leadbetter has been appointed chair of the Children’s Workforce Development Council, it announced today.
He will succeed former education secretary Estelle Morris at the children’s training body from the start of April.
Leadbetter was director of Essex Council for 17 years and was ADSS president from 2001-2. He is currently also chair of Parentline Plus and looked-after children’s charity Voice.
