Children’s projects have received a Big Lottery Fund boost today.
The Community Space Challenge, run by Crime Concern, was awarded £8.3m and will focus on re-engaging deprived children aged 8-17 with their community.
The Eco Challenge, which is carried out through the Field Studies Council, was awarded £2m and will target 11-14 year olds in low performing local education authorities across 250 schools in England. The programme will teach attendees about environmental and conservation issues.
Both projects got a slice of £47.8 million given out by the Big Lottery Fund today to its Changing Spaces programme aimed at helping communities improve their urban and rural environments.
