What's been your best job? 
Undoubtedly my current role as chief executive of the Alzheimer’s Society. It's a great privilege to lead this heroic organisation on such an urgent mission.

If you were stuck on a desert island, and you could take one person and one object, who and what would they be? 
The object is easy - an Apple Mac with 40 Gigabits per second connection. I am still delighted by what the Internet can do. The person is much more difficult. My children need their mother.  However, there's a very famous film actress I met recently...

Who inspires you and why? 
I have to say Dylan. Not only has he created such outstanding art but he has done so along such an inspired, bizarre and fearless journey.

Where is your favourite place?
My garden, playing football with my boys

Which celebrity would you want to play you in a film?
I really rate Gene Hackman. Even when he's playing horrible characters, he’s terrific.

What was the last CD you bought?  
Game Set Match by Nic Jones

What are you reading? 
The Blair Years (but will I finish it?)

What's your favourite film? 
The Third Man

Pets - yes or no? 
I am now the proud owner of a wormery!

If you were on Death Row, what would be your final meal? 
A bowl of my mum's trifle.

How would you want to be remembered? 
On a personal note, I’d like to be remembered fondly. Professionally, I hope it’s the fight against dementia that people never forget.
