Slough Council has reunited nine out of the 10 children picked up in a Metropolitan Police raid last week with their families.
The children were placed in the care of the council following the raid, which related to alleged immigration offences and covered 17 addresses across Slough. The authority then contacted agencies in other countries including Romania.
Speaking yesterday, assistant director for children and education Nicky Rayner said nine out of the 10 children had been reunited with their families, eight of whom had been returned to their parents.
Rayner added: “Parents of several of the children have flown in to the UK to work with us to ensure their well-being.”
The Metropolitan Police said 15 people appeared at City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court last Friday, nine of whom have been charged with using deception to enter or stay in the UK.
