The Department for Children, Schools and Families has announced plans to pilot a newly qualified social worker status for children's practitioners, and the Department of Health has said it is likely to introduce something similar for adults' practitioners.
But what is it that graduate social workers embarking on their first job really need to know?
We want you to share the nuggets of advice - serious or otherwise - imparted to you during your first year as a qualified social worker that you still remember (and live by) today.
Email your gems to lauren.revans@rbi.co.uk and the best will be published in the February 28 issue of Community Care, alongside the findings of a survey by Durham University into the support needs of newly qualified social workers during their first year.
