Homeless young people in Kidderminster put proposals on DVD

by David Harris and Sally Perks

* Are young people who have directly experienced homelessness always the best people to influence local managers of services, and encourage them to change their organisation’s policies and procedures and staff attitudes? What are the dangers in this approach? What are the opportunities presented by this approach? (GUIDE TIME FOR DISCUSSION: 15 minutes)

* Examine the Top Ten Tips in the article from the young people to local managers of services. What top ten tips do you think would have been produced by:

a) the managers of services themselves?
b) the front-line staff in busy offices?
c) members of the public?

If there are differences, why do you think they exist? (20 minutes)
