Under the aegis of the National Children’s Bureau, this is a major collaboration initiative, funded by the Department for Schools, Children and Families, to improve standards of practice and outcomes for children and young people in residential care in England. Its brief covers residential schools and children’s homes.
The centre aims to provide a principal reference point for all matters relating to residential care in England working with commissioners, providers, researchers, practitioners, regulators, children and young people, and families. It is funded by the Department for Children, Schools and Families until September 2009.
