An eight-year-old boy who weighs 14 stone will appear on ITV’s Tonight with Trevor McDonald this evening. Viewers will see how Connor McCreaddie’s health and education have been affected by his size.

His mother, Nicola McKeown, has been called to a child protection conference with North Tyneside Council professionals. This is due to take place tomorrow.

Social workers from the council and medical professionals employed by the primary care trust said they “share the concerns over the child’s health and well-being”, adding they had been “working with family over a prolonged period of time and will continue to do so.”
