Coventry Community Safety Partnership has destroyed 5,000 copies of a leaflet produced using £10,000 of Department of Health funding because it gave inappropriate information about drugs.

Stella Manzie, chief executive of the council, said that while some of the advice in the leaflet was sensible, parts were "absolutely unacceptable - in particular those parts which appeared to encourage criminal activity".

While the partnership had done some "fantastic work", the leaflet produced by the support team "completely misrepresents its views".
