Health and care group Care UK has confirmed it has received an offer from private equity investor Bridgepoint Capital.
In a statement on the London Stock Exchange, the group said it had received a number of approaches from "interested parties", including a "possible offer" of 450p a share from Bridgepoint.
It added: "A further announcement will be made as and when appropriate."
The offer values the firm at about £276m.
In November Care UK reported that pre-tax profits for the year had risen from £1.6m to £21m on revenues up 20% from £316m to £410m.
