The system for regulating health visitors, nurses and midwives
needs a thorough review, says one of the authors of a new history
of the Central Council for Nursing, Midwifery and Health
Visiting.
"There is no doubt that there are lessons to learn from the ways
nurses have developed regulation, but the climate is changing
fast," said Professor Celia Davies.
"What we need now is a thorough review of regulation and a new
set of instructions for new times," she said.
