An umbrella group that includes Unison, fuel poverty charity
Energy Action Scotland, and the Centre for Scottish Public Policy
is calling for the appointment of a "healthy homes co-ordinator".
It also wants targeted subsidies for low income individuals who
cannot afford to buy fuel in Scotland. A group of MSPs with Unison
connections also called for the setting of domestic health and
safety standards and the increasing regulation of the private
rented sector to make programmes like Scotland’s Warm Deal
grant programme more effective.
