Today's must reads: Personal care bill wrecked; dementia funding

Forgive the narcissism but most of today's must-reads are to be found on our website. The government's free personal care bill appears to be dead in the water saving something of a miracle; and MPs and peers have found that cash allocated to primary care trusts to help implement the dementia strategy is not being used in many cases.
But if you fancy reading about anything else I would suggest checking out the Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities' briefing out today on mutual caring. Specifically this looks at the issue of increasing numbers of learning disabled adults living with ageing parents and taking on caring roles, such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and keeping company. The foundation says there is a lack of support for this group and that they can become isolated from society. Services for older people, those with learning disabilities and carers are not sufficiently joined up and some families do not seek help. This is part of an ongoing mutual caring project the charity is running and they have a number of resources on this topic that might prove helpful.

Not sure what else there is but hope that's enough to divert you for a few moments at least.
