Ofsted has said it will revise its frameworks for inspecting the children's social care remits over the coming 12 to 18 months. The inspection body said changes will involve developing new inspection frameworks for children's homes, residential family centres, fostering, adoption, local authority private fostering arrangements and the welfare provision in boarding schools and residential special schools.
Ofsted said it's going to consult with social care providers and will ask children and young people who use social care services to share their views.
The new frameworks will be tested through pilot inspections and inspectors will receive the appropriate training prior to implementation.
Out of this, Ofsted hopes to develop more detailed guidance logs on the national minimum standards and regulations for each social care remit.
Community Care has contacted Ofsted and is awaiting any further details they might be able to provide. Stay tuned!
