As if social workers weren't taking enough flak from the media, newspapers are now identifying those charged with criminal offences as social workers when they are not.
Tracy Dawber, a grandmother (as oddly emphasised by some papers) linked to offenders in the Little Ted's Nursery abuse case and charged for multiple counts of child sex abuse herself, has been identified in multiple papers as a "social worker". Community Care has learned from the GSCC that her job title is in fact a social care worker.
With all the issues actually surrounding the social work sector, the last thing we need is lazy journalism adding fuel to the fire.
