Bronagh Miskelly
Bronagh has been the group editor of Community Care since June 2008. Previously, she has been the editor of a business magazine as well as most recently two magazines for doctors. However, her interest in social care is long standing having done voluntary work with disabled youngsters in her teens and twenties as well as being involved in community action groups. She was also a youth worker for the intriguingly titled PRISM (Peace and Reconciliation Inter-Schools Movement) in her native Belfast, some 20-odd years ago.
With a masters in politics as well as several years of public sector journalism behind her, she is obviously interested in the politics of social care but believes it is important to translate how policies might affect those delivering at the coalface.
Bronagh also has her dangerous side, however, with a tendency to pursue sports with a higher than average risk of injury. Bumps and bruises from her annual tumbles down ski slopes are not enough, she also fences regularly and has been known to bring her sabre to the office.
